Terms of Service

Last updated 12 October 2026. These terms are written in plain language. If you have a signed agreement with EditorialPack, that agreement comes first.

1. The service

EditorialPack Design ("the service") is a browser application for laying out print pages, operated by EditorialPack ("we", "us") at design.editorialpack.io. You use it under these terms on behalf of the publication or company that holds the account ("you").

2. Accounts and people

Accounts are created by invitation from an account owner or by us. Each person uses their own login and keeps their password private. The account owner is responsible for who they invite and for the roles they give. Tell us at once if you believe a login has been misused.

3. Your content

Pages, templates, images, fonts, stories and exports you upload or create stay yours. You give us only the permission needed to store them, render them, back them up and show them to the people you have invited. We do not use your content for anything else and we do not sell it. You confirm that you hold the rights to what you upload, including the licences for any fonts.

4. Where your data lives

The service and its storage run on servers in the United States. Your account owner can export any page as IDML or PDF at any time, so your work is never locked in. When an account closes, we delete its content thirty days after the closing date unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

5. Backups and availability

We take a backup of the database and of all stored files every night and keep those backups for thirty days, in a location separate from the live server. We aim to keep the service available at all times outside announced maintenance, and we will tell you in advance of planned maintenance that affects editing. The service is provided as it stands; we do not promise that it will be free of interruptions or errors.

6. Support

Support is by email at hello@editorialpack.io. We answer within one business day. Problems that stop an issue going to press are handled first.

7. Payment

Pilot publications use the service at no cost for the agreed pilot period. After that, the service is invoiced per publication under the plan you choose, monthly or yearly in advance. Prices are stated in your quote or your EditorialPack account and can change with thirty days' notice.

8. Acceptable use

Use the service for its purpose: producing your publications. Do not try to access other accounts, overload the service, or upload material you have no right to use. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other customers at risk, and we will tell you why.

9. Ending the service

You can stop at any time; a paid period is not refunded. We may end the service with thirty days' notice, and sooner only for a serious breach of these terms. In either case you can export your content until the account closes.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses such as missed press deadlines or lost advertising, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address and material changes are announced by email thirty days in advance. These terms are governed by the law of the country where EditorialPack is established, and any dispute is heard by the courts there.

12. Trademarks

EditorialPack and the EditorialPack Design mark are ours. InDesign and IDML are trademarks of Adobe Inc. EditorialPack is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe. The layout engine is built on open-source software; its notices are at design.editorialpack.io/licenses.
